I love how weddings take me to places I would probably not otherwise visit. This was my first time out to Killarney. I discovered that Manitoba does indeed have hills – like actual hills (not manmade) that the rest of the world would also consider a hill. The drive out as well as the town itself are lovely! – which brings me to the wonderful couple I had the pleasure of photographing and getting to know better. Tristan and Jessica are such kind souls and so obviously in love with each other.
Their wedding day started off with a very sweet first look down by the river with just the bride and groom before joining the wedding party and family for more photos. I always find that doing photos before the ceremony helps calm the nerves and makes the rest of the day more laid back and enjoyable.
It was a very nice, meaningful ceremony (although I’m not sure how much the couple heard or remembered of it since most of their attention was on the person standing next to them).
The reception was filled with so much laughter as family and friends recounted funny stories of the bride and groom. But my favourite part was the first dance. Halfway through, it all of a sudden turned into a hip hop dance which Tristan choreographed. As a dancer, he brought out all the moves and taught his lovely bride how to dance.
It’s always hard to choose which photos to show you, but here’s are some of the highlights from Tristan and Jessica’s wedding day.
