Like most couples who’ve gotten married in the past year, Norman and Selina’s wedding was not what they had originally envisioned. There were countless changes – including the date, location, guest list, officiant, etc. But it was perfect. I have never photographed such a laid-back, relaxed wedding before. When there are only 10 people, it doesn’t matter if things aren’t on schedule.
We started off with a first look where Norman and Selina read letters to each other before seeing each other. It was such a beautiful and emotional moment. After the first look, they had their ceremony. I have always wanted to photograph a wedding in a forest, so this was one of my dreams come true!
It was such a treat to be able to take photos for however long we wanted to without having to stick to any kind of timeline. I had the most amazing couple to work with, the scenery was stunning, and the light was perfect. What more could I ask for? Most of the snow had melted the day before, but we still found several areas with snow which added so much to the photos.
After doing most of the photos at Bird’s Hill, we finished off at the St. Norbert ruins where we were blessed with a stunning sunset. I was on such a high after this wedding and wish I could photograph weddings like this every week!
